Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Grad Chapter?

Since grad chapters do not have MIP as often as an undergraduate chapters, do incoming graduates from an undergraduate chapter have anything to do with this? In other words, I have been pursing membership for a while now, but there hasn't been a line since I've been pursuing this particular chapter. However, there are constant new members of the chapter that have come from the undergraduate level. Does that have anything to do with when a grad chapter will have a MIP? Sure. Provide you have the appropriate interface (IDE or more likely SATA) it makes no difference to your computer whether the hard drive is mechanical or solid state. It would have to be a _very_ old computer to be only able to recognise certain models and sizes of hard drive.

Infinity Speakers v Kenwood Speakers?

Any time you hook a amp up the door speakers aren't affected. Maybe upgrading your cd player would help that. But for some serious knock, Memphis sub and speakers are ridiculous. I have a 1000 watt memphis amp and 2 12 inch Memphis PR series speakers and have found nothing that compares.

Best amp for 2007 f150?

I just got my audio system installed today...My current audio setup in my 07 f150 lariat is an under-seat box with two 10" kicker CVT subs that are rated at 800 watts rms and 1600 peak for the pair. I am part of the Phi Tetta Kappa honors society and Phi Betta Lambda business club. Infinity Kappa 120.9w Enclosure Help?

cjdog23, actually with using a prebuilt cabinet which may not be tuned or have the proper air space so your existing MTX's can play properly may be the issue. A custom box that is built and tuned to the specs of any sub will always out weigh any prefabricated one. You just may need a different cabinet to run your existing sub's in now. No don't take me wrong. Buying quality sub's is very nice and yes, you are receiving a better sound quality, but i've taken very cheap home speaker subs and installed them into a vehicle and people didn't know the difference until they actually saw them in the vehicle. Now to build this type of cabinet does take some mathematical knowledge about internal air space and any angles that are added. Then you need to buy the proper type of wood to use which is MDF, not particle board. MDF is much heavier and will out last particle board. You may want to inquire the cost between the new Infinity's you are looking to purchase compared to having a shop just build you a new cabinet for your existing MTX's.

Retrieving applications installed on a separate hard drive?

I recently made a fresh install of windows 7 ultimate on the existing C:\ drive due to the system running incredibly slow and crashing constantly. i decided to install all of my application on a separate hard drive so that C:\ would be dedicated to the OS. Unfortunately a week after the fresh install and installing all of my applications to my G:\ drive my c:\ drive decided to die on me. i have now added a new HDD and reinstalled win 7 ultimate. my only problem is some applications refuse to run and none of them appear on my Start>Programs list. how can i rectify this. I'm using a USB drive as my main Ubuntu 10.10 installation. I have a HDD in my computer that I would like to use as "external" storage. I've successfully mounted the HDD as /home/user/HDD, but the permissions on the drive say root. Needless to say, I can't write to the HDD. How do I change the permissions to allow writing to the HDD? Not a lot. Yes you can get a lot of medium settings on it at over 30fps. But by spending less than $10 more and getting a HD5570 you can play it at max settings. You also wont have any problems with your PSU.

Can someone explain Amps, Subs & Speakers?

Alright, so I'm re-doing my cars audio. But I want to fully understand what needs to be done before I do it. I understand that amps power subs & speakers. The terms bridge & ohms, I don't. I know mono amps have I guess one output, for a sub. 2 channel, usually for a set of speakers, 4 channels for all the speakers, and 5 for speakers & subs. Right? Now when it comes to amps pushing out power, RMS power for speakers & subs, why is that always a low number? I'm looking at a nice JL or Memphis sub with either Memphis or Infinity Kappa speakers, and an amp to push'em. If the sub pushes 200w-1200w RMS, and the amp I saw for almost $600 only pushes 300w, or something like that, how does that work? Doesn't sound like the amp is fully powering the subs potential. Shouldn't each channel in the amp push out whatever it's powering full potential? Like speakers that push 130 RMS, the amp shouldn't push 50 per channel or w/e. It should push 130 or more per channel, right? And you have a sub running to that amp, and it pushes 500w RMS, then the amp should push 500w RMS per channel to fully power the speakers and sub?

Grad School and GPA's?

They consider everything. I had issues like you did of not adjusting when I transfered and had a lower GPA. At some schools a good GRE can help with a lower GPA. I think if you apply to some lower ranking grad schools and some better ones you should get in somewhere. Then again a lot of people are going for masters now so I am not 100% sure. Try and see what they say. Yes, you community college GPA will factor in.

For power supply I would recommend a 900w. As for your graphics card I would really go for an ati one considering they are really designed better overall than the nvidia cards.

Most other stuff is fine, the cpu could be better, the graphics however are awful. You could get away with games like cs 1.6 but I suggest a better graphics card for crysis etc. I recommend the gtx570 for high budget, the gtx 550ti for mid budget and the 8800gt for low budget. It honestly depends on what school you're going to, and your personality. I'm an acitive member in Alpha Chi Omega, and I LOVE it. Girls are amazing, drama free, and very kind. I love it! Although, my mom was a Delta Zeta, and my sister is a Kappa Kappa Gama. They both adore(d) their sisters and house, and had nothing but good things to say. From my personal experience, I've butt heads with Alpha Phi. The girls in the specific chapter at my school are gorgeous beyond belief, and they know it. They're not kind, and everyone else is below them, so I would say their my least favorite. Alpha Chi Omega is amazing, and my favorite! Everything should work. The Video card isn't too great. I would uprgrade ram. From Newegg you can get a 2gb stick for 25$ that might be a lot better than 1/2 gigs.

Vista fails to recognize ext HDD?

rebooting due to overheating would be your cpu not your graphics card, I advise you to reboot press delete to enter bios screen, there should be some hardware monitor tab which will show the temp of your cpu, from a cold start with no load it should sit between 35-45 degrees centigrade after full load with a decent cooler it should not be higher than 55 degrees centigrade, also what stands out the most with you PC spec is the power supply the wattage is very low, recommend 500W as this could also be causing random reboots

Hi, i am asking this question because it has been a dream for me to Join Sorority in the NPHC (Delta Sigma Theta,Alpha Kappa Alpha, Sigma Gamma Rho, Zeta Phi Beta) Im not going to tell witch one, but just know i am interested in one of them. I work for Best Buy in the computer department and I can tell you that it would be a good buy for the price if it in fact had the ATI 5450 graphics card in it as specified. Unfortunately Best Buy made a mistake in the specs. It does NOT have the ATI graphics card in it. It actually has AMD 3000 integrated graphics in it. So no, unfortunately it will not play games.

You will definitely want to go to their events. If you cannot attend them all that's fine, but you will want to get your face out there. There is nothing wrong with going to other sorority's or fraternity's events for socials, but you don't want to make it seem you have an interest in any other sorority. You can introduce yourself to some members of your school's chapter and even the Graduate chapter from which graduate adviser is apart.

Each chapter has different eligibility requirements but campus involvement, academics, looks and personality have a lot to do with getting a bid. As far as tips, plan your outfits for recruitment well in advance and make sure they are CUTE. Be friendly, have good conversation and show them that you're interested. If you're at a party and you know you want that sorority then tell them. If it's mutual and they know for a fact that you want them, then it'll put you in a better position.

You really can't add a video card with that low of a power supply. Newegg.com has Rosewill brand that is affordable but still good. If you can afford one at 450w then you can get a video card. The first time I replaced my psu I plugged all the wires in from the new one then took out the old one and installed the new main power box, this way you get it right with no experience. 3bTech.com has power supplies as low as $20, I just don't know how good they are. Sorry I don't have better news for you.

I bought a new Laptop off the internet and it DID NOT have an operating system pre-installed. While installing Windows 7 it showed that it had a 196.6 GB Partition Titled "Disk 0 Partition 1" which I could not install Windows and then the rest of the HDD which was unallocated in which i could install the OS. Does anyone know what this partition is? I would assume it is drivers but would deleting it benefit me? I was planning on setting up a system recovery partition.

ATA Channel 0: Device Cannot Start?

I'm having some trouble with my computer. About 2 weeks ago, my computer wouldn't produce any sound from the speakers. I checked and everything is unmuted but still no sound. When I go on Skype and try to receive or make a call, it says I have a problem with my playback device. Then, if I try to play a game on a disk, it won't work. I went to device manager and it shows a yellow symbol next to ATA Channel 0 and when I click on it, it says code 10 device cannot start. I do not know what's wrong!! Its because your external drive is FAT32 which doesn't allow transferring files larger than 4gb , you need to go to your computer right click the hard drive and format it to NTFS , and that would do it Formating will delete all you're files so save them. .jef designs not showing up on machine?

Defo the AMD if you are going with stock cpu speeds, if you plan to overclock, the AMD will reach about 3.8ghz and the intel could hit 4.2ghz. the intel has 2 cores and 4 threads, threads sort of expand a core to almost 4 core speeds, but it isnt a pure 4 core. these days games are taking advantage of 4 cores, so i would say AMD

How to get data of a mini hard drive that has its USB connector not working?

it is one of the drives that has mini usb on one side and regular usb connects to computer. now.. i have taken it apart and it has the mini usb connector on it and some other connector that has just 12 pins sticking out.. it is actually not a connector but just 12 pins sticking out... but, it does say Serial ATA right on a drive... I dont see serial ATA connector anwyhere though, and I have seriously taken it down to a part where I would have to break the bolts to get into plates, please help, how to get my data of? Why does my ipod video keep crashing?

I have a 5th generation ipod video 30GB and it was working fine but now it crashes constantly, the display will just freeze up and won't respond to anything. Should I move into my fraternity house?

I am in Alpha Kappa Psi and my fraternity needs one person to move in so that they can keep the house. They have constantly asked me to move in even though I keep saying I don't want to. He's an art teacher and makes us trace while telling us to be creative and not steal. He doesn't use blackboard and never has our grades calculated. He gives us unreal work loads and then tells me (an honor student my whole life and phi theta kappa member) that I need to work more and that this isn't high school even though I went to a private institution. He's the kind of person who only gives As to the immaculate perfect students who poop gold. Plus (and this one deeply upsets me) he marked my assignment late because I couldn't turn it in on the day of my beloved grandfathers funeral. I am a current medical school student and I can tell you that you are definitely on the right track. I did both Research and Clinical experiences. Your GPA is great, make sure yo maintain it. Also, just make sure you study very well for the MCAT as this exam was crazy hard. It was much harder than the practice exams that you buy. I also used a company called The Admissions Council for help with my application. They are not expensive and the consultants are all currently associated with medical schools so they have lots if inside information. I was recommended this company by a councelor when I was a Junior and wish I would have seen them sooner. It's good that your thinking of medical school this early. Good luck!

Laptop will not boot OS or BIOS?

OK, so this morning, I woke up and turned my Toshiba Satellite a505-s6965 laptop on, and left the room. I have a dual boot, so it boots to the grub menu, and after 10 seconds, automatically loads to linux. When I came in, it was loading to linux, so I pushed the power button and turned it off, as I have done countless times. Then, when I turned the computer on, the computer loaded past the option to load BIOS, and then got to a black screen, with a little white underscore in the top right corner, this normally does this, but now it was not blinking. I waited 5 minutes, still the same thing. I restarted and tried to load BIOS, by pressing F2, as it says, but this does not respond, and it goes back to the black screen. I took out my Ubuntu LiveCD, and popped it in, and tried to load it from that, still nothing. This, was where I was assuming that the HDD got messed up. That did not work, so I went to an identical a505-s6965 and swapped out hard drives. The working laptop loaded all my files without a problem, and the broken laptop would not load the files of the working one, with out doing the same thing. So, what could my problem be?

Why are my Speakers Distorting?

I currently own a kenwood indash that produces 50 watts peak. I have 2 6.5 kicker door speaker with the component tweeters that max at 130 watts and in the deck i own infiniti kappa serious 6x9 that max at 110 watts. Yes, you could definitely run GTA IV on medium settings smoothly (above 50 fps). I wouldn't go crazy with higher settings than medium because of your CPU, which isn't a quad core processor. As someone pointed out already, you would need to have the recommended quad core CPU to have smooth gameplay with max graphics on GTA IV. But your graphics card definitely packs a punch, with 1GB DDR3 VRAM and DirectX 11 compatibility (almost as powerful as my laptop gfx card :D)

Now that is a nice set up and should be fine but due to your low clocking speeds on your main processor you might have a few problems with freezes and lag. But it may not, The graphics card card you have is fine and 8gb of ram will do great with this. Now i have a laptop with an I3 and only 4gb of ram has me running preaty intensive games. I advise getting a decent mother board witch will accept either an amd phenom II if you have a desktop or an AMD Phenom™ II N970 witch has realy good performance for a laptop, now the desktop i advise AMD Phenom II 1090T. This will bring amazing perfomance. Now i went into AMD and not intell because AMD is the better choice for graphics and it is a lil cheaper than an intel with the same performance.If you want to stick with intel then id get an I5 because it can boost its clocking speed when needed. Now If you want to go all out and spend tons of money on a rig I would look at getting a cell processor just because of its computing power, however last i checked it would run you in the 5-8 thousand range so yea.

Windows 7 64 bit upgrade from vista 64 bit. dvdrw issues...?

i recently upgraded from windows vista 64 bit to windows 7 64 bit. everything works great except my dvd burner. "my computer" shows it as a DVD RW drive. but it will not read dvds. in device manager it says the drive is a CD-ROM drive. and when i try to burn to a dvd it tells me it cant complete the burn, "make sure you have the latest firmware". i have a dell 1545 laptop. the drive label in device manager is; HL-DT-ST DVD+-RW GT10N ATA Device. ive tried microsoft fix it tool, and going to dell.com to update the driver. also when i uninstall the drive and check for hardware changes it installs the drive back as a CD-ROM. countless hours of online searching and i have found nothing useful. i did download the newest driver from dell.com and "flash the drivers" but it didn't change anything. im pretty sure all i need is a direct link to the drivers and i can figure out how to install them. no, i do not have a windows vista disc. (my dell didn't come with one).
