Is there a way that you can still be considered for Alpha Kappa Alpha membership, if you have a troubled past?

My best friend and I would like to pursue MIP to become a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha grad chapter together, but there is only once concern. She had a trouble young adulthood over 10yrs ago, which resulted in a felony on her record. Since then she has turned her life around, graduated from college, made a successful career for herself and has always looked to make a good life for her and her family despite, her previous mistakes. Can she still be considered for membership even though she has a felony on her record from long ago, and is so what should she do? I love her and would love for us to be on this journey together, however I'm not sure what her options are. Thanks
