.jef designs not showing up on machine?

Hi, I've been helping my mom with her Janome embroidery machine. Its a MemoryCraft 9700. We just put a few embroidery .JEF files on an ATA card after we formatted it. However, the embroidery machine does not bring them up. We put the patterns in the Embf5 folder, and because it is a 9700, when we formatted the card there was no subfolder.
