Join Phi Theta Kappa with misdemeanors?

I've read that applicants with criminal records are ineligible to join PTK, but I've also read that if you're a convicted felon all the terms of your sentencing must be complete. It says nothing about misdemeanors. I used to drink a lot and unfortunately I racked up 3 misdemeanors because of it ( the longest I spent in jail at one time was 34 days ), though I have no felonies. I've finally got my head on straight and have managed a 4.0 two semesters in a row. My gpa is finally back up over a 3.5 and I was just wondering if this was a possibility or not, I was hoping it could help me get accepted into a good university. I'm trying really hard to get my life back on track.
