How soon should I start attending Alpha Kappa Alpha events as a perspective member?

I am currently completing my Associates degree in Registered Nursing and have plans to earn a BSN as well. I am aware that you must be pursuing a Baccalaureate degree in order to join undergrad. But is it too soon to get involved with service and express my interest? I would appreciate answers from active members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc only.
