How to get data of a mini hard drive that has its USB connector not working?

it is one of the drives that has mini usb on one side and regular usb connects to computer. now.. i have taken it apart and it has the mini usb connector on it and some other connector that has just 12 pins sticking out.. it is actually not a connector but just 12 pins sticking out... but, it does say Serial ATA right on a drive... I dont see serial ATA connector anwyhere though, and I have seriously taken it down to a part where I would have to break the bolts to get into plates, please help, how to get my data of? PS. disk power ups and plates are spinning... computer does not see it tho. thank you
